Values & Mission

Our mission is to change the global economy — one small business at a time. We are proudly for profit, using our business as a tool for justice. Justice here is not a slogan: it means fair pricing, economic access, and inclusive systems, because economic systems should be equitable and sustainable.

THE NON-NEGOTIABLE COMMITMENT

Small Business First

Every decision — sales, finance, product, people — every role — starts with one question: what is best for our small businesses? If a decision does not protect or advance small business outcomes, it does not happen here.

The Seven Core Values

Not aspirational — behavioral expectations. Every team member is responsible for living them and holding the business accountable to them.

Global

Many countries, languages, and identities — diversity is an advantage that strengthens decisions, not a complication.

Justice

Fair and reasonable systems: fair pricing, economic access, and challenging inequitable norms. We use the word intentionally.

Audacious

Changing the global economy is not incremental work. We take risks, experiment, fail, adjust, and move forward anyway.

Integrated

Whole and complete. Complex external work requires internal grounding — self-awareness, maturity, and ongoing growth.

Others-Oriented

This is about the collective, not any one person. Team impact before ego; shared wins; deep listening.

Responsible

Fully remote and high trust. Own your deliverables, manage your time, communicate proactively, and meet commitments.

Fun

The work is serious — economic fragility, justice, real change. Without playfulness, connection, and flow it becomes unsustainable. We can change the world and enjoy doing it. Both matter.

Life Here

Fully remote, deeply human, and intentionally designed — a shared rhythm at the scale of a day, a week, and a year.

A Day

MORNING

Start Visible, Start Grateful

Everyone is online during shared core hours. The day opens with a good morning — and something you are grateful for — in the main team chat.

MIDDAY

Midday Mindfulness

A daily company-wide pause for mindfulness, movement, and meditation. Remote work can be isolating; this shared reset is core to how we stay connected.

EVENING

Finish What You Committed

A full eight-hour day, on camera and present. The day ends when commitments are complete — closed out visibly with a good night in team chat.

A Week

MondayPLAN
Pause & Reflect on last week, 1:1 with your manager, clear commitments for the week, and a company-wide grounding session to start with shared energy.
Tuesday to ThursdayEXECUTE + CONNECT
Focused execution with team huddles, a daily 1 PM ET company gathering — movement on Tuesday, a mandatory one-hour company Team Time on Wednesday, and Thursday Macchiato for pure fun and connection.
FridayCELEBRATE + CLOSE
Team Wellebrations to celebrate the week's wins, then Finish Strong — the week is done when commitments are complete, so next week starts fresh.
WeekendsPROTECTED
Monday through Friday only. No weekend work, meetings, or expected availability — weekends are yours.

A Year

TWO SIX-MONTH CYCLES

Reflect, Then Execute

Each cycle opens with a company-wide personal performance and growth review, then moves into focused execution with shared clarity about what matters now.

REST BY DESIGN

Holidays, Retreats, Shutdown

A Silver Holiday and a team retreat in each cycle — and at year end, the entire company shuts down together for roughly seventeen days. No guilt, no fear of missing out.

GROWTH SUPPORT

Coaching, Always

Unlimited coaching, personal development opportunities, and leadership training throughout the year — growth is actively supported, not just expected.

How Pay Works

Compensation at Silver Lining rewards individual performance, team contribution, loyalty, and long-term company success — without forcing anyone into management roles they do not want. When individuals succeed, teams succeed; when teams succeed, the company succeeds; and when the company succeeds, everyone shares in that success.

COMPONENT / 01

Base Pay

Your stable foundation — earned by showing up consistently, working your full day, and performing your role well. Set by role, level, and responsibility, not geography.

COMPONENT / 02

Performance-Based Pay

Individual goals and quarterly team goals both pay. Strong performers at the same level can out-earn peers — and a high-performing Level 1 can out-earn a Level 2.

COMPONENT / 03

Success Share

When the company is profitable, part of that profit is shared with the team annually, weighted by tenure. Loyalty and staying through growth and challenge are rewarded.

The Comp Chart

Base pay ranges by level and track — the same chart every team member sees.

Three Tracks, One Standard

Growth is flexible — move up within a track or across tracks. Management is not required for success.

Silver TrackSILVER SUCCESS TEAM
Roles that work directly with small business owners. Commissions and challenges create significant upside — execution and direct impact are rewarded.
Specialist TrackDEEP EXPERTISE
For developers, designers, content specialists, recruiters, and other experts who do not manage people. Grow in level, pay, and influence while staying focused on your craft.
Operations TrackPEOPLE · PROCESS · PROFIT
For those who manage people, processes, systems, and profit — managers through chiefs. Responsibility, leadership, and accountability expand as you move up.
Paid in US dollars, everywhere. Pay is standardized by role and level, never reduced by location.
Levels 1 through 6 with overlapping bands — performance moves you, not tenure alone.
Transparent by design. The full comp model is a published Silver Standard every team member can read.
Dignity everywhere. If a band cannot support a reasonable standard of living in a country, we do not hire there.

Why Silver Lining

We believe small business really can succeed with commitment, structure, and access, and we work the same way we teach: grounded, accountable, and human.
